Teddy Swims has left Taylor Swift haters confused with a live acoustic cover of “Cruel Summer”. Listeners were shocked to hear how meaningful Taylor’s lyrics were in this chilled out acoustic setting.

What’s the one thing that’s better than a scheduled live performance by an incredible singer in an intimate venue?
One answer to this might be an impromptu performance by the same singer, a sentiment echoed by many Teddy Swims fans a few weeks ago when the American singer-songwriter unexpectedly turned up to perform at a Dublin pub called O’Regans.
The impromptu singalong came ahead of Teddy’s second gig at the 3Olympia, hence there were lots of his fans around to appreciate the performance.

The video of Teddy’s surprise rendition which has reached over a million views in just one month shows the singer standing next to the piano in the packed pub, with all eyes on him and lots of people getting their phones out in anticipation of filming the event.
Once the pianist has got some cool, upbeat blues chords going, Teddy starts to sing, his passionate husky voice ringing out over the pub as he gives everything he’s got to a performance of his renowned single ‘The Door’.
Teddy also sang ‘Lose Control’, another track with similar bluesy vibes released as a single from his debut album ‘I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy’.
Since the video of the performance has been uploaded, fans have flocked to praise Teddy’s performance as well as his down to earth attitude, given the fact he took time out of his busy schedule to give fans a once in a lifetime experience.
Regan’s host Alex, meanwhile, took to social media saying it was an “absolute pleasure” to watch the singer.
This isn’t the first time Teddy has delivered a blistering live performance either; in fact, he is renowned for his note-perfect live vocals and his passionate performances.
One such example of this comes courtesy of one of the singer’s live renditions of ‘Lose Control’, which was filmed professionally and uploaded to YouTube in 2023.
Looking slick and smart in a trench coat with a shirt and tie, Teddy absolutely nails the performance, showing off the incredible control he has over his vocals.
Both of these videos should leave you in no doubt that Teddy Swims is one of the greatest singers and songwriters on the music scene in 2024.
His powerful, bluesy vocals are a real throwback to male soul singers of the 1960s and 1970s, something that, when paired with Teddy’s iconic style, renders him a truly distinctive artist whose image and music combine together perfectly.
