Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant just turned Rockefeller Center into their own private love story.

In a moment straight out of a holiday movie, the famously private couple laced up their skates and glided onto the iconic Rockefeller Center ice rink—hand in hand, smiling, laughing, and even sharing a kiss beneath the towering Christmas tree.

The magical date was revealed by Alexandra Grant, 52, who shared a heartfelt Instagram carousel on Jan. 13, offering fans a rare glimpse into her relationship with the 61-year-old Matrix and John Wick star.

“Last Monday, after the run of Waiting for Godot, Keanu invited me on a date in New York City,” Grant wrote, casually dropping what might be one of the most charming celebrity date nights of the year.

Bundled in winter layers, the couple took on the famous rink together, with Grant thanking the Rockefeller Center staff for making them feel “right at home”—cheering them on, offering hot cocoa, and even handing out pompom hats.

But this wasn’t just a cute outing. It was a milestone moment.

For Reeves, the night marked a return to the ice after decades away. The actor, who gave up ice hockey as a teenager, had to relearn skating—this time swapping hockey skates for figure skates.

And according to Grant, it wasn’t easy.

“Getting back on ice after a few decades and moving from hockey skates to figure skates and #$%@ toe picks is no joke!” she joked.

Still, the couple powered through together, with videos showing them holding hands as they skated closely, clearly more focused on connection than perfection. At one point, they paused to pose—and shared a kiss—while the Rockefeller Christmas Tree glowed behind them, sending fans into collective meltdown.

The experience left a lasting impression.

Grant said the night gave them a new appreciation for elite figure skaters as they look ahead to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

“We’re inspired by how you’re choosing to train and eat on your terms, what music you prefer, your awesome style choices,” she wrote, cheering on the next generation of skaters. “We’re rooting for you @milanocortina2026!”

But perhaps the most powerful part of her post wasn’t about skating at all—it was about choosing joy.

“So yes, always yes to connecting!” Grant wrote. “Yes to joy, yes to getting out there even when beyond tired, yes to trying something new, yes to doing it your way, and staying open to surprise!”

For longtime fans, the moment felt especially meaningful.

Reeves and Grant—who began dating in 2018 after years of friendship and creative collaboration—have long kept their relationship out of the spotlight. They first met at a dinner party in 2009 and went on to collaborate on multiple books before co-founding the publishing house X Artists’ Books in 2017.

When they finally stepped out publicly as a couple at the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala, the internet erupted—largely because their romance felt refreshingly real, grounded, and un-Hollywood.

Since then, they’ve shared only occasional glimpses of their life together. One of the most intimate came when Reeves told People about his last moment of bliss.

“A couple of days ago with my honey,” he said. “We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling.”

Grant echoed that same quiet devotion in September 2025, when she celebrated Reeves’ 61st birthday with a rare public declaration.

“To Keanu—who saw this post as a draft!” she wrote. “I am so grateful for your love and partnership.”

No spectacle. No performance. Just presence.

And now, on a winter night in New York, with skates wobbling and laughter echoing across the ice, Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant reminded everyone that romance doesn’t have to be loud to be unforgettable.

Sometimes, it’s just two people choosing each other—again—under the lights.
