Eric Trump has spilled the beans on his younger brother Barron Trump’s shattered dreams of becoming a professional soccer player due to his towering height. Despite being the youngest of President Donald Trump’s five children, 19 year old Barron stands at an impressive 6 ft 9 in, dwarfing the rest of his family.

His life has been largely kept under wraps by his mother, Melania, but during a recent appearance on the PBD Podcast, Eric let slip that Barron is a big fan of soccer. However, his aspirations of turning his passion into a career were quashed as he continued to grow taller.

“So he loved soccer until he realized that there’s never been a 6ft9 soccer player ever,” Eric revealed. While there have been some professional soccer players as tall or even taller than Barron, it’s certainly not common. The news emerges as Melania Trump’s heartbreaking fear for son Barron that ‘came true’.

The president himself has previously acknowledged Barron’s love for the sport. Earlier this year, while announcing that the 2026 FIFA World Cup would be held in the US, he joked: “I have a son that loves soccer, Barron, nobody’s ever heard of Barron right, have you ever heard of Barron?” But he also conceded that Barron’s height might be a disadvantage in the sport.

Eric Trump was asked about the dating advice he’s offered Barron

“He’s a good soccer player too, he’s a little tall for soccer but that’s okay,” he added, reports the Irish Star.

Eric Trump revealed that his younger brother, Barron, might have had a passion for basketball until he realized his jumping skills were lacking. He humorously shared: “He might have loved basketball until he realized he still couldn’t jump, right?”

The former president also chimed in, stating that he had suggested basketball over soccer to Barron. “I said you’re gonna be a basketball player. He said, well, ‘I like soccer, Dad,’ actually. I thought… at your height, I like basketball better, but you can’t talk them into everything,’” he recalled.

Eric further speculated that Barron might abandon any aspirations of a sports career and instead focus on intellectual pursuits. “I don’t know. I think he’ll use his brains,” Eric added.

Barron seems to be carving out his own path, following the entrepreneurial footsteps of his father. He’s currently in his second year at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

The young Trump has already amassed more wealth than his mother, thanks to his early venture into the cryptocurrency business.

His net worth is estimated to be a staggering $150 million. Barron entered the crypto market before his father and was instrumental in persuading the family to co-found World Liberty Financial.

“He’s got four wallets or something, and I’m saying, ‘What is a wallet?’” Donald Trump joked, referencing Barron’s savvy with cryptocurrency during the launch of World Liberty in September.

The NYU sophomore, currently believed to be in his second year at the Washington campus, has raked in an estimated $80 million from token sales. He’s also sitting on a massive stash of 2.3 billion locked-up tokens.

If these tokens maintain their value long enough, he could potentially pocket another cool $525 million when they unlock.
