Meghan Trainor has revealed the status of her relationship with Ashley Tisdale after ‘toxic’ mom group drama earlier this year.
Tisdale, 40, published an essay detailing her feelings of being left out and excluded by members of a mom group – ultimately severing ties with the squad by sending a group text that read: ‘This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.’
But 32-year-old Trainor – believed to be part of the friend group in question – said there is no love lost between them.
‘I felt bad for Ashley,’ she told Us Weekly. ‘I felt bad that she was ever that sad, and I think it was just a lot of miscommunication and confusion. I don’t know what happened, but I wish them all the best.’
The Made You Look hitmaker also said the former High School Musical star apologized to her.
‘Ashley texted me like, “I’m sorry your name got dragged in.” And I was like, “It’s all right, girl. The world’s a silly, crazy place, and they just want something to talk about,”‘ she shared.

Amid the internet turmoil, Trainor made light of the situation with a playful TikTok video.
‘Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama,’ she wrote over a clip of herself typing on her computer and sipping coffee.
It was soundtracked by her song Still Don’t Care – the lead single from her imminent new album Toy With Me.
Trainor told the outlet she hasn’t seen Tisdale or her other mom friends in a long time.
She joked that she’d been a ‘bad mom friend’ who hasn’t seen the group since ‘a year ago’ when she bought everyone dinner as an apology for being absent.
Tisdale’s inflammatory essay discussed leaving her posse of mom friends, at length.
She wrote, ‘Here’s the thing nobody prepared me for: Mom groups can turn toxic. Not because the moms themselves are toxic people, but because the dynamic shifts into an ugly place with mean-girl behavior. I know this from personal experience.’
The former Disney star explained there were group text chains that ‘didn’t include everyone’ and there were ‘hangouts’ she didn’t get invited to.
In her essay, she opened up about how she started to feel ‘excluded,’ writing: ‘I was certain that I’d found my village. But over time, I began to wonder whether that was really true.
‘I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story.

‘We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible,’ she wrote on Instagram.
She later explained why surrogacy was the best option for her and husband Daryl Sabara.
‘It wasn’t our first choice, but we had endless conversations with our doctors on this journey, and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family,’ the singer told People magazine. ‘We are forever grateful for that option.’
