Sydney Sweeney sent an emotional message to US troops overseas as she revealed her beloved brother Trent Sweeney was deployed.
‘Receiving calls from my bro always [makes] me happy when he’s deployed,’ the 28-year-old registered Republican – who boasts 26.1 million Instagram followers – wrote via her Instagram story Wednesday.
‘Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service.’
The 25-year-old US Air Force airman was previously deployed to Korea in November 2020, but it’s unclear if he was among the 2,000 soldiers from the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division deployed by the Pentagon on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Iran’s government rejected President Donald Trump‘s 15-point proposal for ending the war he and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu started on February 28 by launching surprise airstrikes, which killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei among other officials.
When Trent left for basic training during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, Sweeney shared two childhood snaps captioned: ‘My little bro leaves for basic training tomorrow. Wishing you luck bud. When the going gets tough just remember your sister is tougher than you.’

The Spokane-born, LA-raised bombshell previously admitted she would ‘rough’ the avid gardener up and ‘tried to push him to do more’ during their somewhat turbulent upbringing.
In 2013, Sweeney and Trent had to live in a one-bedroom hotel room at the Holiday Inn for nine months after their parents – a criminal defense lawyer and a hospitality worker – were declared bankrupt.
Last year, the Twitch streamer – who calls fellow soldier Samayre Soto his ‘wife’ – joined his famous sister on the red carpet at glamorous premieres for her films Christy and Echo Valley.
Trent raised eyebrows in 2022 for posing beside a pair of MAGA-hat-clad partygoers, but he later edited his Instagram caption to clarify the hats actually read ‘Make Sixty Great Again’ in honor of his mother Lisa’s 60th birthday bash.
On Wednesday, Deadline reported that Sweeney will fly to Australia next month to begin filming Jim Mickle’s live-action adaptation of Gundam for Netflix based on the Japanese military science fiction media franchise.
This fall, the American Eagle brand ambassador will begin producing and reprising her role as ex-con Millie Calloway in Lionsgate sequel The Housemaid’s Secret alongside Michele Morrone, Amanda Seyfried and Kirsten Dunst.
Paul Feig will be back to produce and direct the big-screen adaptation of Freida McFadden’s 2023 erotic thriller novel following the undeniable success of The Housemaid, which amassed $397 million at the global box office last year.
Sweeney was in dire need of a hit after her prior three films – Christy ($2 million), Eden ($2.5 million) and Americana ($500,000) – all bombed at the box office.
